England, the current World T20 champions, certainly have a chance of adding the 50-over trophy to their cupboard. They were poor at the last World Cup, which was overshadowed by the tragic death of Pakistan's coach, Bob Woolmer. Australia were the eventual champions, their third title in a row.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara has been named as the Captain for the World Cup 2011.The huge surprise was the omission of most experience batsman Sanath Jayasuriya and bowler Chaminda Vaas.
The squad announcement process has begun and many teams have finalized their cricket team’s squad. Sri Lanka after including Chaminda Vaas and Jayasuriya surprisingly in their preliminary squad finally announced their 15-member squad, dropping both the players.
